Why You Need a Safe Zone Viewer

When creating vertical video content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring that your core message, graphics, and subtitles aren't obscured by the app's native user interface.

The "UI Safe Zone" refers to the area of the screen that remains completely unobstructed by profile pictures, like buttons, captions, and header navigation. If you place important text outside of this zone, your viewers might not be able to read it, which can decrease engagement and watch time.

TikTok vs. Instagram Reels Safe Zones

While both platforms use a standard 9:16 aspect ratio (typically 1080x1920 pixels), their UI layouts differ slightly:

  • TikTok: Features a taller right-side icon column (including a dedicated bookmark button) and a prominent "For You / Following" header that takes up significant top space.
  • Instagram Reels: Has a slightly more compact right column, but often features longer captions that can expand upwards and block the bottom third of your video.

100% Private and Secure

Video files can be large and sensitive. Our Safe Zone Viewer processes your files entirely within your web browser using modern web APIs. Your media is never uploaded to an external server, meaning it's instantly available for preview without waiting for uploads, and your unreleased content remains completely private.
